Initially the E uropean C onsumer C entre (ECC) was created exclusively to provide information and support to the consumers in subjects that concern cross-border transactions. In time, the role of ECC was extended, and priority was given in providing practical information to the European consumers about their areas of interest. In cases where there is a difference or a complaint that results from cross-border transaction, the ECC offers the consumer legal information and represents him or her in the country where the supplier of the defective product or service is established. The ultimate objective is the creation and the development of at least one European Consumer Centre in every European Union member state.
